The Waterman League was founded in 2009 with a mission to showcase and grow the full spectrum of ocean sports. In 2010 it launched the APP World Tour, establishing the official World Championship for Stand Up Paddling and crowning champions every year since. Building on this success, the League created the Ocean Games in 2014, a multi-discipline festival bringing together competitive water sports, culture, and community.
In 2025, the Waterman League became Watermasters, a bold new identity built on the same values that defined our journey. With events on six continents and viewership in more than 170 countries, our global community continues to grow.
